National Council of Jewish Women/
Founded in 1909 by 15 courageous Jewish women, the Los Angeles Section of the National Council of Jewish Women is best defined by its membership today – 1,000 plus diverse and dynamic individuals who dare to make a difference in the lives of women, children and families.
Our volunteers tutor children at homeless centers, reopen closed libraries and introduce elementary school students to the arts. They counsel women in crisis, provide counseling to at-risk youth and guide people to success.
As part of a national organization of 90,000 members and supporters who share a passion for social justice, NCJW/LA makes its members’ voices heard on causes such as: child care, reproductive rights, race and gender equality, domestic violence, health care, human trafficking, equitable welfare reform, education and the environment.
